Types of games in Baccarat

Punto Banco

Punto Banco is one of the most played games in casinos around the world. Here, the casino will be the bank in all games. Punto means the player and Banco means the bank. In a Punto Banco, there will be two playing hands. Neither of the playing-hands will associate with the player or the banker. The dealer is the person who deals with both the playing-hands. The shoe will contain six or eight decks of card. The seventh from the last card will be the cut-card. While dealing with the cards, once the cut-card is dealt, the coup will end. The dealer will face up the first card and based on the value of the card, place that many cards face up for both the player hand and the banker’s hand. Each time he places the card, he calculates the total. Once either the banker or the player reaches a total of eight or nine, the coup will end, and the winner will be announced.

Chemin de fer

This version came in the nineteenth century. This game will include the use of six decks of cards. The game starts from the right of the croupier and continues in the anti-clockwise direction. This game will have several players. One player will act as a banker, and it is changed in the course of the game. One from the remaining players will represent the non-banking group. Each of the players, with the banker, will wager an amount. The banker will face down two cards each to the representative and for himself. Then these cards will face up and compared. If either of their hands has a total of eight or nine, all other cards will face up, and they will compare. If no one has got eight or nine, then the player can decide whether to accept or reject the third card. If he accepts it, a third card will face up for both the player and the banker, and the comparison takes place. If the player’s total is higher than the banker’s, their wagering amount will be back to them along with the share of the banker and the banking position changes to the next person. If the banker’s hand is high, then all the wagers will go to the bank, and the position will not change for the next coup.

Baccarat Banque

Baccarat Banque is similar to Chemin de fer, but with an exception that the banker is fixed throughout the game until he decides to retire or loses all his money. All the other rules are the same with ten players.
